TuliParkDay Ortigia

Thousands of tulips in the heart of Syracuse’s historic center

For the first time, TuliPark presented an exclusive temporary garden in Piazza Minerva, adjacent to the Syracuse Cathedral on the island of Ortigia, featuring 100,000 blooming tulips. For two days, the historic center of Syracuse was transformed into a spectacular setting of colors, nature, and beauty, seamlessly blending with the island’s architectural heritage.
The event drew visitors and tourists from all over Sicily, recording over 12,000 attendees in just two days. This result confirmed TuliParkDay’s ability to generate interest, promote the local area, and create a significant temporary tourist attraction.

An event capable of promoting the local area

The goal of TuliPark Day Ortigia was to create a temporary attraction capable of integrating with the city’s historical and architectural heritage. The installation of thousands of tulips transformed the public space into a place for meeting and sharing, offering visitors an immersive and highly photogenic experience.
The combination of Ortigia’s timeless charm and the colors of the tulips generated a strong visual impact, contributing to the promotion of the city’s image and the enhancement of local businesses in the area.

An experience organized in every detail

Access to the exhibition area was organized at Piazza Minerva through a booking system available on the official website. During the event, visitors could also book on-site via special touchscreen kiosks, with electronic payment by credit card.
The opening of TuliParkDay Ortigia was accompanied by a marching band and the presence of the Mayor of Syracuse, Francesco Italiano, officially kicking off the two days dedicated to tulips. Throughout the event, TuliPark hostesses in traditional Dutch costumes welcomed visitors and provided all the necessary information on the preservation and care of potted tulips. The mascot Holly was also there, starring in numerous photos and entertainment moments for the little ones.
At the entrance, each visitor received a kraft paper bag, designed to carry and protect the tulips during their visit.
